The incident occurred at around 08:30 in the morning. According to the information received, a nitrogen gas leak occurred during maintenance work at the lithium factory named 'Pomega' in the Çekirdeksiz Neighborhood of Polatlı. Upon notification, gendarmerie, UMKE, AFAD and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene. Of the workers affected by the leak, 31-year-old Berat Yıldız and 23-year-old Abdülkadir Kaya lost their lives, while the other 8 workers affected by the gas were taken into hospital for observation. It was learned that an investigation was launched by the Polatlı Republic Chief Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, and that the investigations at the scene were continuing.
